What`s not to love about this tall, dark, and handsome guy?!
Alfie is a sweet and playful gent who loves attention.
He is six years old, 65 pounds, and does well with other greyhounds at Greyhound Pets, Inc. , if they can match his energy level. But he is looking for a home without cats or small dogs.
Alfie is still getting used to the world beyond kennels and racing. New situations make him a little nervous, but who can blame him? He is working on building his confidence but still prefers a quieter home with adults and a fenced yard.
Alfie`s adoption comes with four training sessions, and his adoption fee is covered by a generous sponsor.

Happy adoption day, Bill!
One of our #WhyNotMePets March highlights, Bill had been waiting for his people to arrive for quite some time, and that day finally arrived. His new mom and dad had a greyhound many years ago and decided that now would be the perfect time to adopt. They got their fence fixed up and visited Greyhound Pets Inc. to meet some of the adoptable pooches.
It was pretty clear from the start that Bill was going to be the one. After one last raid of the toy chest in the adoption center they packed up and headed home. Congratulations to all!

What better day to spotlight adoptable Pandora than our state`s "Evergreen Love for Shelter Pets Day"?! You may recognize Pandora as we`ve highlighted her before...believe it or not, she`s been waiting for three years now to find a loving home of her own.
Pandora is a fun loving sighthound with a million watt smile and a personality to match. She is pop-u-lar and a volunteer favorite at Greyhound Pets, Inc.! Those who meet her are won over by her relaxed, friendly charm and humorous antics. Make a date with Greyhound Pets Inc to meet Pandora and see if she is a match for you!
Pandora’s gene pool is a true sighthound party mix, comprised of 77% Greyhound, 14% Irish Wolfhound, 5% Borzoi, 2% Polish Greyhound, and 2% other stuff.
(Pandora is approximately 5 years old and needs a home without cats or small children, she can handle some dogs with proper introductions.)
We are grateful to Governor Bob Ferguson for proclaiming April 2nd as Evergreen Love for Shelter Pets Day to help bring attention to homeless pets.

For the past week we’ve highlighted this sweet, happy boy. Clover is smart and eager to learn. He is playful and loves to play fetch!
Clover was in a foster home for a week, while the kennel roof was being replaced, and he was a star!! This boy just needs a chance!

In 2025, we celebrated our 20th anniversary and we met - and exceeded - most of our goals to increase adoptions, spay/neuter, and pet retention. This is only possible thanks to generous donations from our compassionate community, thank you!
Our biggest expense by far is for spay/neuter, with over $100,000 spent in Yakima Valley alone last year, an area experiencing an overpopulation crisis. With little overhead, your donations go far to help the most at-risk and neediest animals in our state.
2026 is shaping up to be a busy and impactful year, building off our success in 2025. Thank you for your support!

Clover is a sweet, happy, friendly boy ready to find a forever home. He is smart and eager to learn, he is a delightful guy and playful - he loves to play fetch!
Clover can be unsure of new people and situations, until he knows you and is comfortable with you. He would love a quieter home with a more experienced adopter to help guide him. Clover has been nervous on walks and his caretakers at Greyhound Pets, Inc. are helping build up his confidence. Clover has made huge progress and his adoption comes with training sessions to continue to help him grow and bond with his new people.

Darcy is a sweet little Whippet mix with a big heart. Her sweetness shines through in her playful spirit. Rescued from the dog meat trade two years ago, she`s been healing from that trauma and is ready for a loving home of her own.
She will light up your life with her silly antics and joyful nature.
