At Purrfect Pals our highest priority is taking in the cats and kittens who need us most… those who other shelters and rescue groups might not have the resources to help. This includes senior cats (though we prefer to call them “vintage”), cats with major medical needs, cats with chronic illnesses (including FIV and Feline Leukemia) and those with behavioral challenges.
Our cat adoption and rehabilitation programs help us place homeless cats, including those with special needs, in loving homes. We believe that every cat is adoptable; some just need more time than others to find the right match. Our ultimate goal is to place them with adopters but some might need a skilled foster family in the meantime. We also have room at our main campus sanctuary where they can stay close to our staff for daily care. Purrfect Pals’ cats will always have a home with us for as long as they need it. The Purrfect Pals Sanctuary is currently home to 100+ of these special cats.
We truly believe that every cat, with or without special needs, matters and is deserving of a forever home. After all, people aren’t perfect. How can we expect our cats to be?

#WhyNotMePets is focused on giving hope to the homeless cats and dogs who have been in the shelters the longest—Those who have been lost in the crowd, and could use an extra helping hand at being seen to a wider audience of potential adopters.
When all the other animals quickly leave the shelters, these are the cats and dogs left behind, asking themselves, “Why not me?”

Jr. Painkiller has been waiting patiently for someone to see the gentle, loving companion she truly is. At 4 years old, this sweet grey-and-white girl is the definition of a quiet cuddle buddy.
She may be a little shy at first, but once she feels safe, she’ll happily curl up in your lap, make biscuits nonstop, and soak up all the head rubs you can give. Jr. Painkiller loves peaceful days spent birdwatching from the window and softly “chatting” at them.

Jonathan is an active eight year old Greyhound Lurcher mix. He loves his walks with the volunteers at Greyhound Pets, Inc. and he is a good walker. He also loves to run in the dog park with the volunteers, he`s a fun and playful guy. He also does well encountering other dogs on the trail as long as he and the other dog are leashed and he feels secure.
He’d do best as your one-and-only, where he can finally feel safe, settled, and fully loved.

The campaign currently focuses on Washington’s cats and dogs that have been homeless one year or more OR those with some special needs who need a little extra help to be adopted; they may be elderly, have behavior or medical needs, aren’t thriving in the shelter environment, and those that make up a large percentage of the shelter population, such as bully breeds or black cats.
